Cayman Islands - Kids Activities

The Cayman Islands is a nice vacation spot for the whole family, but it has only a few places for kids. Although the activities are limited, the ones that are available are quite fun

Many families visit the Cayman Islands; however, unlike other vacation destinations that have theme parks, the Cayman Islands have limited activities for kids. If you plan to bring your kids with you when you visit the Islands, you need to know the best ways to keep them entertained. When kids are unhappy, they will want to go back home, and your amazing vacation will be over, so make sure you plan a few hours a day to keep your kids happy.

The ship ride to the Cayman Islands can be exciting for your kids depending on if they like ships and are not afraid of deep water. If they like large ships, they will be smiling and giggling when it starts to move away from the shore. They might also ask you to pick them up so that they can see the ocean water from the ship, if you do this, be careful and do it from the center of the ship, not near the edge. You need to keep them busy after the first few hours, because they might get bored; coloring books and toys should keep them happy until the ship reaches the Cayman Islands shore.

After you check into your hotel, you should take a tour to get a better idea of the area, after that, everyone can start having fun. You should definitely visit the Lobster Pot if you like seafood, but the best part is that it offers something fun for your kids as well. Around 6:30 to 7:00, the restaurants feed the tarpons in the ocean usually behind the building. They feed them by throwing food into the ocean, and your kids can toss some food as well. If you do not want to eat at this restaurant, you do not have to; your kids can still visit and toss the fish to the animals; just call and ask the staff about the feeding times.

A movie theater is also an option; this may seem like something you normally do at home during the weekend, but there is a way to make this theater trip special. Since it is a Cayman Islands vacation, why not spend a little bit more at the theater to make your kids happy. Instead of just paying for one movie, pay for two or three and make it a movie day, you can buy plenty of popcorn and snacks during the movies. Your kids will remember this, because they will get to see many great movies in one day, just make sure you get to the theater early.

There are also activities suited for girls and boys, they are fun, and your kids will be happy to try them. A great activity for girls is a pony ride, but not just any pony ride, a moonlit pony ride at night. This is something that your kids will remember for a long time, because they do not get a chance to ride a pony everyday, and doing it during the night makes it much more special. Boys will love a submarine ride in the ocean because there are many fish there to see, and even sunken ships. If your kids like pirates, their mouth will drop when they see sunken ships underwater in the distance, these ships may not be actual pirate ships, but your kids will still enjoy viewing them underwater.

There are a few activities in the Cayman Islands that kids can enjoy, they may not be theme park rides, but they are still fun to try.
