Shopping in Georgetown in The Cayman Islands

If you plan to go shopping while you are in the Cayman Islands, you will need some extra cash, because most of the stores sell expensive items. There are, however, bargains to be had on jewelry.

There are many activities to try in the Cayman Islands, which will keep most families busy; snorkeling, scuba diving, and jet skiing are great ways to spend the day. Although these activities are fun, some people may want to walk around the island and shop instead. Georgetown is a great place to shop; the area has many stores that sell items such as jewelry, cookware, figurines, and t-shirts. Since the island is small, you do not have to worry about getting lost when you walk around and visit all the stores.

If you like inexpensive top brand jewelry, you should definitely plan a trip to the Cayman Islands to shop. You will find items such as Rolexes and save close to $1,500 on each of them, which is a great deal. The island stores are known for their bargains on jewelry, so buying something elegant as a gift is a great way to surprise someone. You can present the gift while you are still on the island, or you can wait until you return home if you have a certain day in mind. Shopping in the Cayman Islands is a great way to buy someone an expensive piece of jewelry without paying a lot of money for it.

Jewelry is the only item that is sold as a bargain; everything else is very expensive. Unlike the other Caribbean islands, the Cayman Islands are wealthy, so expect to spend a lot of money while shopping the stores. It is wise to plan before you get there, you should save some money just to buy souvenirs or other items you may want. Most of the stores are found in the Cayman Islands capital, which is Georgetown; the U.S dollar is worth $0.87 there.

Once you arrive in Georgetown, try to find items for yourself and your family back home. If you love fine crystals, or you know someone who does, you can find some elegant glasses at the crystal store. The elderly will defiantly love some porcelain figurines, so you should visit a figurine store to buy something that suits the older members of your family. Middle-aged people will love some Caribbean design cookware; however, the cookware store is located in the shopping center on Seven Mile Beach. Before you leave the island, find a store that sells rum cakes; they are awesome, and you should buy some for your friends and family back home too.

If you think the stores are too expensive for you, just remember the prices, and shop during your next visit. There are other ways interesting to spend the day if you decide not to shop, and they will keep you busy. Visiting the rum factory or turtle farm is a great way to spend a day; you will learn a lot, and you will have an excellent time as well.

There are many places to shop in Georgetown; however, most of the bargains are on jewelry. The other store’s items are expensive, so if you plan to shop those stores, bring plenty of extra cash. If you decide not to shop during your first visit, remember the prices, and take a tour of turtle farm or the rum factory instead.
