Cayman Islands Transportation Options

After you move into your new home in Grand Cayman, you are going to need some reliable transportation. There are a few effective ways to get around the island so you can to go work and shop

Moving to Grand Cayman is a great idea; there are beaches, clear oceans, and many places to relax during your free time. When you finally get there from your ship, the first thing you will need to find is transportation so you can get around the island and find a job. The transportation has to be reliable, because depending on where you live, you may have to travel to bit to reach certain locations such as stores. There are quite a few ways to get around the island; however, you should generally pick the method that suits you the best.

Grand Cayman is an awesome place to live; however, the local transportation, such as buses, is not reliable. Some people have experienced breakdowns while riding on buses, so if your job location is far from your new home, you should avoid them. You should use buses when you first arrive in Grand Cayman to get to destinations that help you add items to your new home. The buses do not breakdown everyday, but it does happen occasionally, so use another ways to travel after you move in and get your job.

You may think that the best type of transportation in Grand Cayman is cars, and they are in some ways, but scooters are much better. Scooters are inexpensive and take up less space; they are available in gas powered or manual powered. Choosing the right one depends on you, if you have the energy to move your feet across the ground for a few miles, pick the manual powered.

Manual powered scooters are not that bad, you only have to use your feet about every 10- 20 seconds, and when you are going downhill, you will not have to use your feet as much. If you would like to cruise around the island without using your energy, choose the gas-powered scooter. The only disadvantage is that it costs money to keep gas in the scooter’s tank, but if you are extremely tired after you finish working on your job, it is a great choice.

Jogging is a great option if you want to travel to the store to buy one item. Jogging helps save gas, and it is healthy for you and the environment. When you are jogging, you get to smell the fresh air and enjoy the view; you can even plan a special day just for jogging around the island. The island is about 22 miles long; picking up a map can help you plan your path without getting lost. GPS devices are also ok to use, and some of them have an MP3 player built in so you can enjoy some listening to music while you are running.

You can travel around Grand Cayman in many ways such as jogging, by car, or by a manual or gas powered scooter
