Vacations with Teenagers in The Cayman Islands

A wave runner tour in the Cayman Islands is an excellent way to spend time with your teenagers during the summer. Driving the wave runners is a blast, and there are other fun activities too

If you have teenagers, you never get a chance to spend a lot of time with them during the year. Generally, they hang out with their friends or talk on the phone, so the most time you have with them is on a vacation. Instead of planning a car trip, which can get boring very fast, you should defiantly think about a family trip to the Cayman Islands. There are many activities for everyone to try, and once the vacation is over; your family will want to revisit the island again the next year.

Most teenagers love to drive things, so a good way to keep them happy is by booking a wave runner tour. After the tour, everyone gets a chance to snorkel to see fish and sunken ships, which is great, but teenagers will have the most fun driving the wave runners. The wave runner tour leaves from Grand Cayman Resort, so book a hotel in that area so you can experience it without having to travel far. You do not have to worry about crowds of people, because many tourists do not use this tour because of the distance it takes to reach it. It is a long way there, and you have to use a water taxi; once you get one, tell the taxi driver to take you to the hotel, not the sign. When the driver stops at the hotel sign, your family will have to walk a bit to reach the actual hotel building. The driver charges a flat flee instead of by distance, so keep this in mind when you use the taxi.

Once you reach the hotel, you need to pack a few important items for the tour including money for food. Since you will be near water, you will need a waterproof bag for your money to keep it dry. If someone gets hungry, there are a few food shacks nearby; everyone can visit them after the tour is over. Packing some water shoes is also a good idea, because depending on how tough everyone‘s feet are, the Jet Ski’s peddles could possibly cause pain or hurt them. Finally, you need a waterproof camera to take photos of the animals and the objects you will find while snorkeling. You will see many types of underwater animals, and getting a photo is a great way to show your family back home how awesome your trip was.

The wave runner tour consists of two guides, and about fifty other tourists, so you might not get any individual attention. You have to learn about the animals by listening to the guide who is nearest to you. Since there are fifty people and two guides, they cannot talk to and answer everyone’s questions about the animals, but they do offer a bit of fun. Firstly, they let the tourists go as fast as they want on the wave runners, which will make most teenagers happy. Secondly, they have their own favorite stingrays and they let everyone hold them and pose with them. After the tour is over, everyone will have learned about the stingrays and some of the other animals in the ocean.

Planning a wave runner tour in the Cayman Islands is great for teenagers because they get to snorkel, meet new animals, and most importantly, ride jet skis. It is a great trip for adults was well, because it is quite relaxing and peaceful swimming underwater.
