Cayman Islands - Weather Issues

The Cayman Islands is a great vacation spot; however, you have to be aware of the weather. During certain months, many tourists deal with hot weather and heavy storms.

The Cayman Islands, one of the world’s most popular vacations spots, should be visited during specific times of the year. Many people have awesome vacations while in the Cayman Islands because they plan their visit first. Issues such as the heat and possible hurricanes could really reduce your fun during your vacation. Heat is one of the toughest issues you will have to deal with, but there are ways to beat it.

If you are going to travel to the Cayman Islands, try to go before or after July and August. July and August are the hottest months in the Cayman Islands; the islands get very muddy during these times. Touring on a bus is not fun during these months because some buses do not have working air conditioners. It will be tough for you to enjoy the tour because you will spend most of your time being hot and less time viewing the sites.

Kids dislike hot buses as well, they will whine during the entire tour and will want to get off the hot bus. If you already have tickets to visit the islands during July or August, rent a car to tour the area. Once you have seen the sites in your rental car, you should find a place to relax and cool off.

Trying to stay cool in the Cayman Islands during July and August is tough, but swimming everyday helps everyone stay comfortable. You do not have to limit yourself to only swimming; you can try snorkeling, jet skiing, wave runners, or dolphin encounters. It does not matter what you choose, just make sure you spend some time in the water. Visiting the Cayman Islands in July and August is challenging; however, visiting the islands during hurricane season is a whole lot worse.

Traveling to the Cayman Islands during hurricane season is risky; a tropical storm can form at any time. If the storm becomes a hurricane, your Cayman Islands fun might be delayed. When a hurricane is out in the ocean, there is a chance that it will hit land. If the hurricane heads toward the Caymans Islands, everyone will have to leave immediately. A hurricane is dangerous, but a tropical storm is a bit less threatening. A tropical storm produces a good amount of rain; you might have to stay indoors of hours.

Depending on how bad the storm is, there is a chance that the electricity could go out as well. To avoid all of these storm issues, keep an eye on the weather channel at all times before and after you get to the Cayman Islands. Staying in the islands during hurricane season is not for everyone, but you should still consider it. In the Cayman Islands, some of the best activities only take place near the end of hurricane season.

During the month of November, the Cayman Islands have cool events that are worth checking out. The first week of the month is Pirates week; the parades and festivals are great for kids. Everyone dresses up as pirates during pirate’s week, and you can join in and dress up as well. If you love pirates, you should plan your Cayman Islands visit so you can arrive in time to see them.

The Cayman Islands is a great place, but you have to visit at the right time to have the most fun. Hot weather and storms are a big issue, so prepare yourself if you visit the islands in July, August, or during hurricane season.
